Gimmelwald Village

Gimmelwald is now rather famous, in a quiet way, as a traditional Swiss mountain farming village, based around the production of cheese and meat.

Cows, sheep and goats graze the steep pastures. During the summer, families work together to cut and turn the hay by hand before hauling and storing it in wooden barns.
